Kiss Them Good-bye was my first novel, published in hardcover by William Morrow and Company in September, 1993. It sold around 4000 copies. It’s out of print.
The book started as a simple remark by my wife, Pat. She and I were visiting the campus of a private school I attended during my high school years. She looked at me then looked around at the campus and said, “You should write about this. It’s so rich.”
But I imagined a very different school than the place I actually went. I set the novel at Ravenhill School, a creepy place that references the famous poem by the divine Edgar. Someone told me that if I wanted to get published, write a scary book. So I did.
Here you’ll find: the dust jacket of the book, advanced quotes, an excerpt, reviews, (including Kirkus, Armchair Detective and internet), a post card from a reading with master crime writer Elmore Leonard, and a television interview.
